South Africa in Book, Bits, and FilmOBS is pleased to present the Internet projection of Miramax Films' upcoming release of Cry, the Beloved Country, based on the 1948 book by Alan Paton. The themes explored -- economic and political exploitation, fear, hope, mercy, and justice -- are as relevant today as they were at the beginning of apartheid South Africa, and can speak to the people of every nation that has struggled to understand and reconcile their own relationships with colonialism.
