With THE POSTMAN (IL POSTINO) director Michael Radford (White Mischief) and the late legendary Italian writer-director-actor Massimo Troisi bring the Chilean novel Burning Patience to the screen in an inspiring Mediterranean tale starring Troisi and Philippe Noiret (CINEMA PARADISO).

THE POSTMAN (IL POSTINO) focuses on the renowned Chilean poet and diplomat, Pablo Neruda (Philippe Noiret), forced into exile and granted sanctuary by the Italian government. When Neruda arrives on the island of Capri, the local postmaster hires the uneducated Mario (Massimo Troisi) as Neruda's personal postman. Mario slowly gains the aloof man's confidence and a touching and improbable friendship begins as the postman learns that within a man's words lies his soul.
