The guiding religion of the modern-day state of Israel is of course Judaism, one of the three major monotheistic religions of the world. Judaism formed the basis of the other two monotheistic faiths, Christianity and Islam. In number of adherents, Judaism today is much smaller than either Christianity or Islam. Its members, however, carry on a tradition that is thousands of years old, in locations ranging from California to Europe to China.
