Romania's Religions

Orthodox Icon
Among Romanians, the dominant religion is Orthodox Christianity, which claims the support of between 70 and 80 percent of the population. A substantial Hungarian minority in Romania is predominantly Roman Catholic. A smaller part of the Hungarian minority adheres to Calvinism, a Protestant religion dating back to the days of the early Reformation in Europe.

The McKinley Internet Yellow Pages are an excellent guide to on-line information about the world's religions. A good place to start is the 4-star Web site Facets of Religion.
